  • Internet access for downloading a distribution to install, or a pre-downloaded ISO file.

    Tuxboot

  3. Select the location of the USB flash drive and click OK to start making
    Tuxboot

Method 2: Manually Create A Boot USB Flash Drive

Warning! Do not run makeboot.bat from your local hard drive!
Doing so may cause your operating system to fail to boot!
  1. [Download] (https://clonezilla.org/downloads.php) Clonezilla Live zip file.
  2. If you are using a USB flash drive formatted with a FAT or NTFS file system and you already have a partition of at least 200 MB, skip to the next step (3).
Otherwise, create at least one 200 MB partition on the USB flash drive and format it with the FAT16 / FAT32 or NTFS file system.
  3. Extract all the contents of the zip file to a FAT16 / FAT32 or NTFS partition on a USB flash drive. Keep the directory structure, for example, the file “GPL” should be in the top-level directory of the USB flash drive (eg G:\ GPL).
  4. Right-click makeboot.bat in dir utils\win32\ (for 32-bit Windows) or makeboot64.bat in dir utils\win64\ (for 64-bit Windows), select as administrator.
warning! You must run Makeboot.bat from a USB flash drive.
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

  2. The first one is the default mode of Clonezilla Live. It will default to framebuffer mode with a resolution of 800×600.
You can choose more modes in the second option “Other modes of Clonezilla live”. For example, if you want, you can use 1024X768 or 640×480. Here we select the fourth item – “To RAM, Boot media can be removed later”. :

Because in the default mode, Clonezilla does not load its own Usb disk as a backup disk, so it will require an extra USB disk as a backup disk (plus the Clonezilla boot disk, ** requires a total of two! **); and we choose to load Clonezilla into memory, Clonezilla will automatically recognize and load its own U disk, we only need a Usb disk for backup and restore.

  1. select the default language “English”.
